The Woman Behind the Brand
Welcome to YouMe Midnight Moon - A World of Inspiration and Empowerment
Beautiful Soul! I'm Madeline Perez, the woman behind YouMe Midnight Moon. 🖤
I'm a mother, woman veteran, entrepreneur, mental health advocate, lifelong learner, and someone who believes there is always more for us to learn about ourselves.
Like many women, I wear many hats. I'm a mother of two, I continue to serve in the military, I work, study, build a business, and somehow try to make space for myself in between. And I don't always get that balance right. That's part of why the work behind YouMe Midnight Moon is so personal to me.
More Than Something I Created
My experiences have taught me the importance of checking in with ourselves, understanding what we're feeling, asking for support when we need it, and giving ourselves space to reflect.
Journaling became one of the ways I could do that. I don't journal because I always have an answer waiting for me on the page. Sometimes I write because I have too much on my mind. Sometimes I'm trying to understand what I'm feeling. And sometimes I simply need somewhere to put the thoughts I haven't said out loud or all those scattered thoughts running through my head.
That personal connection to journaling eventually became part of the purpose behind YouMe Midnight Moon.
Why Mental Health Matters to Me
Mental and emotional well-being is something I care deeply about. I believe we need more spaces where people can talk about how they're really doing without feeling like they need to have everything figured out.
Through YouMe Midnight Moon, I want to contribute to those conversations, challenge stigma, and create journals, workshops, and resources that encourage reflection and self-awareness. Journaling isn't a replacement for professional mental health support. But it can be one tool we use to better understand ourselves.
A Woman Veteran Supporting Other Women
My military experience has also shaped who I am and how I see this work. As a woman veteran, I understand that our experiences don't always fit neatly into one part of our identity. We can be strong and still need support. We can lead and still have moments when we don't know what comes next. We can take care of others and still need to make space for ourselves.
That's why I've become more intentional about creating resources and opportunities that include women who serve and have served. It's a community that is personal to me and one I hope to continue supporting through YouMe Midnight Moon.
Faith, Family & Purpose
My family is a big part of who I am. Being a mother has taught me, challenged me, and given me countless reasons to continue learning and growing. My faith is another important part of my life. One verse that has stayed with me throughout different seasons is: “My God turns my darkness into light.” — Psalm 18:28
Those words also connect naturally with the meaning behind YouMe Midnight Moon. Black doesn't represent only darkness to me. It represents our experiences, challenges, emotions, and the different parts of our stories that have shaped us. And even in the darkness, there can still be light.
Why I Keep Building YouMe Midnight Moon
What started as an idea centered around my love for black has grown into something with much more purpose and intention behind it. Today, I'm building YouMe Midnight Moon around journaling, workshops, resources, conversations about mental and emotional well-being, and products that allow women to express themselves.
I'm still learning. I'm still growing. And so is YouMe Midnight Moon.
I think that's part of what makes this journey meaningful. We don't need to have every part of our lives figured out before we begin. Sometimes we learn who we're becoming while we're already on the way.
So whether you found YouMe Midnight Moon through one of our products, a workshop, a resource, or simply something I shared, I'm glad you're here.
I hope something you find here gives you a reason to pause, reflect, and reconnect with yourself. Take what you need, write what you feel, and remember that every part of your story has meaning. Your story is still being written, and your light is still within you.
From my soul to yours,
Madeline Perez
